  • Chung Tai is included in the approved list of suppliers of materials and specialist contractors regarding roller shutters for public works by the Government Secretariat Lands and Works.

  • The company name changes to "Chung Tai Roller Shutters", reflecting the specialist nature of the company.
  • Quality products endorsed by the Hong Kong Q-Mark Council.

  • Chung Tai is permitted to manufacture and install fire-rated roller shutters.

  • Chung Tai becomes a ISO 9001: 1994 certified company and recognised as such by HKQAA.

  • Develops "Superfine" Polycarbonate Transparent Roller Shutter and is patent filed in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Submits a specimen of Laterally Sliding Roller Shutter in a fire test satisfying the requirements of BS476: Part 22: Clause 8, 1987 and ISO 3008, 1994 for 242 minutes.

  • Submits a specimen of Horizontally Sliding Roller Shutter in a fire test satisfying the requirement of BS476: Part 22: Clause 8, 1987 and ISO 3008, 1994 for 242 minutes.
  • Submits a Specimen of Fire Rated Steel Doorset in a fire test satisfies the requirement of BS476: Part 22: Clause 7 and Clause 8, 1987 and ISO 3008, 1984 for 240 minutes integrity and 1/2 hour insulation.
2001
  • Chung Tai develops a new polycarbonate shutter, "Clearseal" Polycarbonate Transparent Roller Shutter, which is filed to the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department for a Short-term patent and to the State Intellectual Property Office of P.R.C. for a standard patent.
  • Submits specimens of two uninsulated single leaf doorsets with vision panels and louvers in a fire test satisfying the requirements of BS476: Part 22: Clause 8, 1987 for 240 minutes integrity.
2003
  • A fire-rated air louver is assessed by BRANZ to be installed on concrete or masonry walls.
